Community:
Wayne County Highway Department maintains 405 miles of paved road for all towns and villages—nearly 94,000 residents. The Highway Department performs other duties which include: construction projects, culvert replacements, bridge rehabilitations, inspection and maintenance on bridges, striping and repaving road surfaces.

Stormwater Management Activities: 

• Wayne County Highway Department maintains a website detailing their MS4 activities: web.co.wayne.ny.us/417/Stormwater-Management-Program.

• Wayne County holds a household hazardous waste drop-off event, a tire recycling event and an e-waste recycling event for residents through the Wayne County Soil & Water Conservation District. 

• Wayne County Highway Department has mapped all of its storm drain outfalls.

• Wayne County Highway Department staff regularly attends training sessions provided by the Ontario-Wayne Stormwater Coalition or at New York State training events to ensure they are current with Stormwater Phase II regulations.
